Our HOme in the Big (Little) City…
Tucked away at the corner of State & Lark Streets in Albany’s Center Square neighborhood is our elegant, intimate, namesake whiskey lounge — a Prohibition Era-style speakeasy built to serve as our capital outpost, just 10 miles east of our New Scotland homebase.
We specialize in innovative cocktails conceived and hand-crafted in-house. Scope our menu!
Celebrating New York Agriculture!
The Tasting Room offers flights of the rye, wheat, and bourbon “Helderberg Whiskies” — as well as our award-winning gin and vodka — that have made New Scotland Spirits a statewide name.
We also serve beer, wine, mead, and cider made by producers from across the Empire State, thereby introducing patrons to a multifaceted “New York terroir.”
Literature and Limited Editions
In addition to our extensive array of signature cocktails, you can buy bottles of New Scotland Spirits that you can’t find anywhere else. Pick up the last of our Heldeberg Single Malt Whiskies, the very first spirit we ever distilled, or our award-winning Helderberg Bourbon, Bottled-in-Bond.
You’ll also find an extensive collection of books for purchase, to include cocktail encyclopedias and titles about the culture of whiskey, regional Prohibition Era gangsters, and histories of both the Town of New Scotland and City of Albany.
Private Parties and Functions
With a maximum occupancy of 25, the New Scotland Spirits Tasting Room is perfect for private gatherings on the smaller side.
Email us at tastingroom@newscotlandspirits.com if you’d like to rent out the Tasting Room—complete with our unparalleled bartenders!—for a business meeting, birthday dinner, or to watch the Super Bowl on the hidden big screen TV we’ve installed for such occasions!
Parking Instructions
Navigating Albany’s historic Lark Street by automobile can—concededly—be a chore; there’s limited curbside parking, and only the Creator could possibly understand whatever the parking restriction signs me.
Fortunately, there’s FREE PARKING available all day Saturday/Sunday and after 6pm Monday through Friday in the Albany County parking lot bordered by Washington Avenue and Spring Street.

But first, there was a vision…
